Ballet recital

Here are some pictures from the ballet recital. It was absolutely precious to watch and they did much better than what we thought they would. The rehearsal the week before was down right frightening and none of them were doing the same thing...it was hilarious. Somehow they turned it around and did a really good job.

End of the year party at Mrs. Jaime's farm

Mrs. Jaime (one of S&T's teachers) has a HUGE farm and had an end of the year party there for the whole class. The kids had a blast and the moms were all in awe of the land, animals, barn, cabin, playground, etc. This place was pretty amazing. Above is the sandpile that they all had a blast in. First we met at the barn and the kids all got to feed the animals Cheez Its and Cheerios which they thought was funny. Then we got in our cars and drove over to their cabin with a beautiful pavillion with all kinds of handmade chairs, a fireplace and picnic tables that her husband had built and we all had a picnic lunch and then the kids played on the playground. They have 400 acres and it is gorgeous! This is not even where they live, it's just their little getaway. They actually live on Lay Lake not far from there but want to build their dream house on this land once they sell their lake house. I wish I had taken pictures of the pavillion and cabin but I didn't.

This was inside one of their huge barns where they keep alot of their farming equipment. It has a kitchen and "outhouse"...so cute.

Taylor and Michael....every little girls just LOVES Michael!!! In fact, Taylor told me that very day "Mom sometimes I just stare at Michael....and he stares back at me" and giggled away.

There were two baby goats, Ariel and Jasmine. Milly named them after Disney princesses!

This emu made the strangest sound. Kind of like a low growl of a tiger. I saw several moms standing just beside him until he made that sound then everyone would slowly move away. It was creepy.

New rug for our kitchen...hopefully!

Clint has just finished painting our kitchen and boy do I love it! It used to be a pretty green color, which I liked, but it had gotten pretty banged up in places from highchairs, kids, toys, etc. and really needed to be painted. He painted it blue and I love it...I'll have to post a picture later. So I am in love with this crazy floral rug and I want this to go under our table because the old one (which is still in great shape and I hope to sell) just does not match at all. I actually asked him if we could do a brown and cream zebra print rug and I thought he was gonna hit the floor! SOOOO not his style but I would totally love it. Actually this is the smaller accent rug that coordinates with the one that I want but you get the general idea. I am pretty sure the zebra thing isn't gonna work out so I am hoping he will give in and let me get this one. ; o)

Feeling sassy

The girls were feeling sassy the other day so I decided to snap a few pictures. They REALLY need to stop growing. It's killing me. Isn't Sutty's little alien shirt so cute? I am so in love with it.

Catalog photoshoot

The girls were asked to be models for a photoshoot for a kid's clothing catalog recently. The name of the clothing line is Blessed Be The Name and I love, love, love their clothes! Ashley, the designer, also owns a kid's clothing store in Mt. Laurel named Favorite Laundry and when we were in the store several weeks ago she asked if they would like to be in the fall catalog and of course we said yes! The shoot was in a loft in downtown Birmingham that was super cool. I felt cool just being there. (Clint makes fun of me for saying things like that but sometimes just BEING somewhere super cool makes me feel good about myself! There is a certain restaurant that I said that about and he just laughed at me.) Anyway, we walked in and it was very organized chaos...kids every which way changing clothes, taking pictures...it was fun! The girls did great and we were not there but for maybe an hour or so. I didn't take many pictures because I felt like I would be disrupting what they were doing if I did. Anyway, we had a great time and also got a $100 gift certificate to use for the clothing in the fall...can't beat that!

My babies are growing up

These are pictures from their last day of school this year. I can't believe how fast they are growing up on me...makes me so sad. They had field day on the last day of school and loved everything about it. They had a fabulous year this year and had the two best teachers you could ever imagine! They are already missing them very much and one of them even asked me the other day if Mrs. Jaime and Mrs. Sarah could come over for "a little playdate" soon. They received their progress reports at the end of the school year and they are both exactly where they should be and did great this year. I'm so proud!

Butterfly release

We recently raised and hatched 5 Painted Lady butterflies and it was the neatest thing to watch. They received the kit for Christmas but I wanted to wait until the weather was warm so we could release them after they were hatched rather than to keep them inside for the whole 2 weeks of their lives. Isn't that sad? Their life span is only 2 weeks...doesn't seem fair. The girls had a ball checking on the catepillars every day and watching them eat and grow. About a week after we got them they entered the chrysallis period and then about 5 days later we had butterflies hatching left and right. We kept the butterflies for 2 days and then released them.
